Schiefer Turm von Pisa

Dr schief Durm vo Pisa (italiänisch Torre pendente di Pisa) isch woorschinlig s bekanntiste schefe Bauwärk uf dr Wält und s Woorzäiche vo dr Stadt Pisa z Italie.

Gschicht

Dr Durm isch as e freistehende Gloggedurm (Campanile) für e Dom vo Pisa blant worde. Mä het dr Grundstäi am 9. August 1173 gläit, und 12 Joor spööter, wo mä bim dritte Stock aachoo isch, het sich dr Durm in Richdig Südoste afo näige. Druf het me 100 Joor lang nüm dra witergschafft.

Mä het e baar Mol brobiert, dr 55 Meter hoochi Durm z saniere, s letscht Mol in de 1990er Joor und het si Schieflaage vo fümfehalb Graad uf öbbe vier Grad chönne verchliinere. Oobe het mä im Innere vom Durm in dr Middi e Pändel ufghänkt, wo unde bim Boode fast an dr Sitewand aachunnt.

Dr Legände nooch het dr Galileo Galilei, wo us Pisa gstammt het, füsikalischi Versüechen uf em Durm gmacht und drbi d Fallgsetz entdeckt.

Im Joor 1987 isch s Ansämbel us em Durm, dr Kathedrale nääbedraa, em Baptisterium und em Friidhoof vo dr UNESCO zum Wältkulturerb erklärt worde.

Very busy site with the historic tower. If you want to go up pre-book online for a 30 minute slot (I didn't book in the end!). Just nice to see the tower and other buildings here!

Lovin' this astonishing view of the leaning tower of Pisa. You must find the right angle to make a perfect 3D photo.

The tower began leaning after just 2 floors were built, but 100 years later they carried on building another 8 floors. And even though it could be corrected, they decided not to as its lean is famous.
