54 gondolas and lifts and 170 km of runs at your fingertips. Kitzbuhel has been around since 1892. If you are brave, the Streif, is known to be the most difficult downhill course in the world.

Kitzbühel's name first originated in the 12th century as "Chizbuhel." "Chizzo" relates to a Bavarian clan and "Buhel" to the location of a settlement on a mountain.
