Centrum handlowe Silesia City Center, ul. Chorzowska, Katowice, 5 marca 2019 r.
Centrum handlowe powstało w 2005 r. na terenie zlikwidowanej kopalni Gottwald. Została ona założona w 1904 r. pod nazwą Eminenz (Eminencja). Pozostałością z tamtego okresu jest wieża wyciągowa szybu Georg (Jerzy). Po II wojnie światowej nazwę kopalni zmieniono na cześć pierwszego komunistycznego prezydenta Czechosłowacji - Klementa Gottwalda. W 1974 r. kopalnia została połączona z sąsiednią kopalnią Kleofas. Działalność wydobywcza została zakończona w 2004 r.
